Glowgolf is a chain of minigolf courses designed to occupy vacant mall spots.  This is the second Glowgolf that we have played and in comparison to the other one (which was at the Meriden Mall in CT) it was a much better course.  This course has 36 holes (so for $9 you can play the whole course once then the first 18 again) and we estimated that 25-30 were unique in design so you didn’t feel like you were playing the same hole over and over.  There were some duplicates to the other Glowgolf course we played but there were also a lot of unique holes including a giant loop and a rather evil little “courtyard” hole.  In fact many of the holes were quite difficult and required some thought to do well, but there were also a handful of easy to ace holes as well to keep your confidence up.

The area is quite spacious (it looked like it was in an old Barnes & Noble), but as we played we realized the layout was not well thought-out.  (It was a bit confusing to find the next hole a couple times.)  The course overall is in excellent condition.  It is well constructed and all the carpets were in great shape.  The paintings and theme were a mix of space, undersea and jungle but it all seemed to hang together as you moved through the holes.  Similar to the other location the music was all Top 40 stuff and was a bit overbearing at times, though nothing too annoying.  The course finishes with a Plinko type hole that gives the player a chance to win either $2.00 a return visit or a free try at the laser maze.

On the day we played it was relatively empty and it made for a great couple of hours.  We could see the place being crazy on a rainy day when its filled with kids, but if you can hit it at an off time it’s definitely worth the $9.
